Design by Atlas is a residential design studio rooted in Esperance, Western Australia, designing homes for the way people actually want to live.
Led by Nicola Sime and Emmi Frank, the studio works closely with clients from the very beginning, taking time to understand how a home needs to function before a single decision is made. The result is spaces that are considered, personal, and built to last.
Every project is shaped through collaboration with local builders and tradespeople — ensuring the design feels grounded in the region, and finished to a standard that reflects it.

The name Design by Atlas is grounded in the idea of bringing design home — translating ideas gathered beyond the region into homes in Esperance. Informed by broader design approaches, materials, and detail, the studio distils these influences into spaces that feel anchored and deeply local. Each project contributes to a gradual evolution of the built landscape of Esperance — improving it one home at a time.
